Work

The mini-jib is an invaluable tool for making small productions into high profile ones. This shot is from a Dateline story about a daring rescue in the Oregon mountains with correspondent Keith Morrison.

While lighting is crucial to making the big stars of Hollywood and others look great, on many shoots you can't control the light so they require a different approach. In "process" shooting which makes up a lot of documentary and news work, composition takes the place of lighting. This welder above was interviewed as he worked adding a sense of character and environment to what otherwise would be just a talking head.

Production shoots give you the chance to work on a bigger scale than the small crews of documentary work. Here I'm shooting the open for the Miss USA show where Donald Trump comes in and "fires" last years crown holder.
